Nicholas Sy is an assistant editor with post production experience in features, television, animation, and promos. A Bay Area native, he was most recently an Assistant Editor on PLURIBUS (Season 1), a new Apple TV series from Vince Gilligan (BREAKING BAD), and a Second Assistant Editor on IN YOUR DREAMS, an animated feature from Kuku Studios and Netflix Animation. He was previously a Post Production Assistant on the Emmy-nominated series BETTER CALL SAUL (Season 5) and an Editorial Intern at Pixar Animation Studios for the Academy Award-winning film SOUL. He also edited the independent feature UP ON THE GLASS and the short film THE LAST SEPTEMBER, the latter of which won an award at CAAM Fest and received award nominations at the BFI Future Film Festival. Along with internships at HBO and Viacom, Nicholas was part of the inaugural class of Academy Gold, an internship program from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) that promotes diversity and inclusion in the film industry. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, with a degree in Film & TV Production. In addition to working in editing and post production, he has conducted research on digital film preservation.
